Sandy Haven Camp is situated on five acres of the tranquil southern shore of Sandy Island - the largest island at the mouth of the great and historic French River on Lake Nipissing. We pick up our guests at Starlite Marina in Sturgeon Falls, and bring them to our secluded island by way of our 35' steel hull cruiser. This 12 mile trip takes 70 to 75 minutes which gives you time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery as you cross Lake Nipissing to start your fishing vacation. We have six housekeeping cottages nestled privately amidst fragrant pine trees. Each cottage has a propane stove, fridge, bed linens, pots and pans, dishes, cutlery and BBQ's. Best of all, they have hot and cold running water, showers and flush toilets. All cottages face the water and most have their own dock. Our 16' cedar-strip boats are equipped with 9.9 HP motors which will quickly get you to the many inlets, bays and secluded hot spots in the area. Guests can expect to catch anything from jumbo perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye and northern pike to the ever-exciting muskie. Northern pike are the predominant fish, with common catches in the six to ten pound range. Freezer facilities are available at our main lodge.
