Our camp is located north of the Quetico Provincial Park in northwestern Ontario. The camp is accessible by road, just 6 miles off Highway 17, 90 miles west of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The cold, clear waters of Lac Des Milles Lacs provide some of the best walleye and northern fishing available. Thunderbird is also equipped to accommodate the hunter. We have had excellent hunting for fall bear, ducks and moose.

We have many uninhabited lakes surrounding our camp and the fishing is just plain great for Walleye, Northern and Trout. If you are looking for something different and a new adventure to fish several lakes on your holiday, this just could be what you have been looking for. All lakes are feeder lakes from Lake Nipigon with two lakes, Upper Roslyn and Georgia, being fish sanctuaries and the water is connected to the feeder system. We can fish the entrance of both lakes. All of the lakes connect and the water runs out the Sturgeon River; we are situated on the Sturgeon River where it starts at Gathering Lake. Gathering Lake has excellent fishing and constantly produces trophy Walleye. We have access to it from our camp just a few hundred yards up river by boat. Thunderhook Fly-Ins - Enjoy Canada's Beauty The fascination of Wilderness: from the image of clear pristine lakes and the incredible serenity of remote fly-in camps comes the vision of mouth-watering fish sizzling over the fire. Thunderhook Fly-Ins is located 5 miles south of Armstrong, which is approximately 150 miles north of Thunder Bay, Ontario on Highway 527. Walleye pike in the 2 to 4 pound range are plentiful and can be caught all summer using live bait or a variety of artificial lures. Stringers of walleyes like "the good old days" become a reality. Light gear works best. Northern pike, found in weedy bars and off rocky points, range from 6 to 30 pounds. Lake trout from 5 to 35 lbs. can be found by the more patient fishermen.
